1/27/10 - Flew into Phuket for visit to this area. Want to do lot of snorkeling in this part of Thailand. Using Patong Beach as my base for this area. It is about 45 minutes from Phuket Town. Very touristy but OK. Lots of restaurants in area plus beach is very nice. Found a travel agent here and set up several excursions.
1/29/10- Went to Raya Island for an overnight. Package included stop at small island before heading to Raya. Had lunch then went snorkeling. There was bit of misconnect with operator and almost missed snorkeling trip but all worked out. Met real nice guy here that was attending wedding of his sister. We met at pier and talked for awhile. Ran into him couple of times and also took boat back to Phuket together. He and his wife are from Canada.
1/31/10 - Went on Excursion to Surin Islands.
2/1/10 - Went on Excursion to Phi Phi Island. Met Tamer who is officer in Turkish Air Force and is stationed in Seoul, Korea.
2/2/10 - Excursion to Similan Islands.
2/3/10 - Left Phucket by ferry to Ao Nang. This is the beach resort area of Krabi. Really lovely place. Only stayed here one night but wish I was staying longer.
