Had great time in Bangkok after 24 hr. flight through Tokyo. Everything went well but still tiring flight. I will be arriving 12/8/09 into Bangkok & staying at Baan Saladeang Hotel for 4 nights before joining my GAP tour. Plan to check things out for my return back to Bangkok in mid-January. Hotel in Bangkok was very good. Great location and very nice staff. Did lot of maintenance for my next visit to this city.
Getting ready to leave Bangkok tomorrow morning for Cambodia. Was situated in Silom area in Bangkok which is a great central area. Ran around and did some maintenance items for my return to this city after my touring with GAP Adventures Roam Cambodia and Vietnam and then, after 6 nights in Hanoi area, taking another GAP Adventure Roam Laos tour.
Weather here is very hot but not as bad as last visit to Bangkok. I'll probably loose some weight considering all the sweating I'm doing. It has been sunny every day but hot.
It is still too hot for me but adjusting as best I can. Visited with a friend here that I met in NY last month. He showed me around to the hot spots and we had dinner a couple of nights.
Got a SIM card for my cell phone after spending 3 hrs. with Dtac (one of the mobile companies here) to no avail. They tried everything & couldn't get internet & text messaging to work. I even went to Samsung store & they couldn't get it to work either. Finally went to another provider & it is working fine. My Thai phone number is 0879256377. I will not answer any calls between 12/13/09 - 1/13/10 since I will be out of Thailand. Will be accepting text messages.
